Description
Seeding Justice is the leading funder of social change organizing in the USA’s pacific northwest region. It is one of the largest, longest-running, community-led, participatory grant-making funds in the Pacific Northwest, having made its first participatory grants in 1976. We have learned a lot in the last 48 years, and have set our sights on fixing our collective DAF problem. How can we inspire traditional DAF holders to move money faster to the communities that need them? Our Donor in Movement Funds (DMFs) are an alternative to traditional DAFs, and are set up for donors with vision who want to ensure their giving is in alignment with their progressive values. Session for leaders and staff interested in aligning DAF grantmaking with social justice values and those seeking to leverage technology for more effective, transparent, and equitable grantmaking. We will explain the origins and structure of the DMF program, offering insights for others interested in launching similar initiatives.
