Deepening Inclusion For Greater Impact:Exploring Undiscovered Sector Potentials.

Stephen Rwagweri African Continental Crafts

A panel discussion on “deepening Inclusion” unveiling undiscovered potentials and perspectives to deepen Inclusion drawn from research and work experience with victims of historical and systemic exclusion from diverse sectors, regions and backgrounds. Taking artisanal sector as example, the piloting of “Traditional Artisan Inclusion” innovation in diverse and remote parts of the world, identified numerous case studies which demonstrate undiscovered potential of the sector to drive universal Inclusion, if appreciated through impact funding discussion. Artisanship is socially and geographically universal human production sector. It provides the first livelihood skills as a starting point and still provide fall back livelihood skills when human physical and technical vibrancy fail. This means that the illiterate, people with disabilities, the chronically ill, and the elderly can all be reclaimed to productivity along side their healthy and vibrant counterparts. It can extend productivity to even the most resources deprived like the refugees, the displaced, the landless and the stateless. As a natural space of human imagination and creativity, it provides grounds for the current innovations to start from the known in order to discover the unknown. Despite all this potential to drive universal Inclusion and ignite innovations, the sector, remains the most marginalised in impact investment discussion. Similar undiscovered potential in other sectors may be added. Mr Stephen Rwagweri, specialised in issues of exclusion and groups at the margins in Africa, Ms Audrey Saliam expert on similar issues but in other sectors and based in India, and Ms Lubna Dajan based in USA but with professional experience in Arab world, will employ store telling using case studies and research results to deliver key messages. PDF containing collection of case studies and a policy brief will be shared at the end.
