From Capital to Community: A Skills Lab on Catalytic Investment

What makes an investment truly catalytic? This skills lab brings together two approaches to community impact: large-scale capital investments that embed community benefit, and flexible funding that builds local capacity over time. Using Sacramento-based examples, including Golden 1 Center and investments in the Del Paso Heights community, participants will explore how these approaches work together to expand access, strengthen organizations, and help attract additional resources over time. Attendees will leave with a practical framework for designing investments that create both immediate and sustained community impact across different markets and contexts.
