Description
Most capital today is deployed through static portfolios, disconnected from how ecosystems actually function. This creates misalignment, delays, and persistent underfunding of the actors who make innovation possible.
This session introduces a new model, informed by the Lemelson Foundation’s Oregon ecosystem pilot: philanthropy funds shared infrastructure (trust, coordination, access), while investment capital flows dynamically to ventures emerging from real-time demand—supported by improved ecosystem sensing. Capital behaves less like a portfolio—and more like weather—responding to what is growing.
Participants will explore how this approach can generate ventures, create jobs, and reduce long-term dependency on grants.
