How Philanthropy Can Catalyze a Black Regenerative Ecosystem

Teju Adisa-Farrar Black Fiber & Textile Network

In this lighning talk, I will speak about how unrestricted philanthropy can catalyze a decentralized ecosystem that supports Black fiber farmers, designers, artists, and manufactuerers. Philanthropy can infuse capital into organizations, such as Black Fiber & Textile Network, that are building alternative economic networks based in equity and ecological resilience. A more sustainable future is made up of decentralized networks that can share, distribute and control resources within the communities who use them. An infusion of philanthropy helped us create a strong foundation for our organization. As a result, we were able to support collaboration between network members, build an integrative platform with directory, and distribute financial resources to members across the globe.
