First time fund managers face a range of systemic barriers and complex challenges often rooted in a lack of capacity and fund management experience as well as significant resources needed for building out a middle- and back-office team which leaves little money for scaling investment teams and making necessary investments. We also often found that investors are hesitant to commit to first-time funds and prefer to see a joint track record of key investment team members.
Although we do not have the solution for all challenges identified, through a shared services offering we aim to serve as a catalyst to help transform the impact investing space and propel aspiring impact fund managers towards a path of success by offering a shared services model where we help support the middle- and back-office operations.
