Announcing the SOCAP24 Agenda — Going Deeper: Catalyzing Systems Change!

Is Owning the Dirt Owning Your Destiny?

Rosa Lee Harden Neighborhood Economics

“The theme of SOCAP24, Going Deeper: Catalyzing Systems Change, is encouraging the SOCAP community to critically examine its practices with a challenge to delve deeper.”

This panel will suggest that perhaps the basic ‘investment system’ is deeply broken and could benefit from a complete redesign of the allocation of power and capital. We are beginning to see real glimmers of hope in changing what top-down impact investing, or even top-down philanthropic practices could be, as those have fundamentally and continually failed people actually living the problems and proximate leaders. Concepts of what neighbor capital, or even servant capital could be are beginning to get real traction.
