Description
As development and humanitarian crises continue to escalate due to climate change, conflict, famine, and poverty, frontline organizations and local nonprofits critically need innovative data solutions to deliver targeted, inclusive assistance. AI-driven data technology holds enormous potential to radically transform social impact efforts to achieve better outcomes for vulnerable and underrepresented populations.
KoboToolbox’s AI-powered features for automated transcription and translation—and, soon, analysis—enable nonprofits to collect detailed and accurate information from affected communities in their own words, and then identify timely insights for data-informed action, improving resource efficiency and increasing impact.
Through the real-world case study of Kobo’s work with UN Women to use AI tools for qualitative data in underrepresented communities and underserved languages, this panel explores the potential and challenges of leveraging AI data technology in humanitarian and development contexts. Leading experts in AI solutions for social impact will discuss critical questions about how we can harness AI-driven data tools to empower local community-driven action and sustainable change, the challenges for accelerating access to this technology, and ethical concerns related to bias, inclusivity, and equity when using AI tools in fragile contexts.
