Great teachers understand that different students may need different types of support to succeed. Yet too often, investors in education and workforce development outcomes use the same lesson plan across their investments. In this panel, we will explore how investors such as the Macquarie Group Foundation and another invited investor [TBC] deploy capital and non-financial resources in a bespoke manner, tailored for the investee and its beneficiaries. Various approaches to deployment will be discussed, including a single investor deploying both philanthropic and investment capital with targeted objectives, investors co-designing impact reporting with co-investors and portfolio companies, and tapping into a 20,000 strong corporate workforce to provide pro bono skills-based volunteering for investees. We will also hear a portfolio company perspective from Pursuit, with reflections on a recent investment by Macquarie Group Foundation. Perspectives offered by Macquarie Group Foundation, Pursuit, and an additional investor will cover multiple geographies, areas of work, and communities of impact.
