Not Your Mother's Executive Search: The Offor Method

Ify Walker Offor

We set out to understand why there were so few women, and specifically Black women, in CEO positions. What we discovered surprised us: executive hiring is broken. Executive search does not work for anyone – organizations and executives alike. Research shows that 50% of external executive hires are not considered a success 18 months into their tenure. Organizations are spending time and money on hires without the results. Executive candidates are enduring one-sided, drawn out processes that leave them feeling disregarded and disrespected. At Offor, we believe that when the playbook is broken, you write a new one. So, we looked at the rules of executive search and rewrote them. When using the Offor Method, 80% of c-level placements are people of color and 50% are women. 90% of new hires are still in their roles two years later.
