Too often, business as usual increases wealth and income inequality, limiting economic mobility and security for low-wage workers while enriching corporate leaders and shareholders. B Lab believes in a different type of business, one that produces value for all through good jobs and an equitable distribution of profit. B Lab’s performance standards and stakeholder governance model create a blueprint for businesses to follow and many B Corps have experimented with implementing a variety of alternative ownership models that are shifting the corporate structures that otherwise entrench inequality. We’d like to invite a couple of B Corps to speak about their own journeys to implement some of these practices and the results they’ve observed.
