Description

Culture and creativity are powerful drivers of economic growth and social change, fostering innovation, inclusivity, and a strong sense of identity. The cultural and creative industries (CCIs) generate over $2.25 trillion globally and support 30 million jobs, offering accessible opportunities, particularly for youth, women, and marginalized communities.
Beyond their economic impact, cultural initiatives strengthen social cohesion by fostering shared identities and bridging divides across ethnicity, gender, and class. They also serve as platforms for amplifying marginalized voices, promoting diversity, and driving social change. Art and media, in particular, play a crucial role in raising awareness on pressing issues such as climate change, human rights, and inequality.
This panel will explore the economic and social opportunities within the CCIs through the perspectives of an artist, a foundation, and an NGO. Together, they will discuss how creativity can drive community development, how artistic projects can inspire civic engagement, and how the creative economy can be a catalyst for sustainable progress.
