Description
This session will dive into the entanglements between wealth and power sharing at worker owned companies and what constitutes good practice.
While worker ownership is a great way for workers to build wealth and have a voice at their workplace, worker ownership does not necessarily mean broad-based ownership or democratic governance, especially when it concerns medium- and low-income workers. Through an interactive discussion, attendees will give an overview of the spectrum of power and wealth sharing under worker ownership, and discuss best practices in the implementation of democratic governance and wealth sharing models that encourage worker participation including medium- and low-income workers. Speakers will identify the challenges and best practices for fostering meaningful worker ownership and explore case studies of “high road” practices that promote equitable governance and voice.
