When Doing Good Goes Bad: Resolving Impact Investment Disputes Effectively

This meet-up will share the findings of a 2025/2026 research project (led by Burand and Volkmer) that investigated how today’s investors resolve disputes when contracting for impact. Delegates participating in this session will be invited to engage in a candid discussion of what is shaping investors’ choice of dispute resolution mechanisms in impact investing and how parties are contracting for these mechanisms. They also will be invited to brainstorm about how dispute resolution can be made more effective and efficient when impact investing.
