Submit your session idea for SOCAP23 before midnight PST on April 1, 2023!

SOCAP Open is core to what SOCAP is about. We ask our community for their ideas to help drive the conversation at our flagship event — everyone is invited to share, no matter where you live, what job you hold, or the size of your organization. Each year, hundreds of ideas are submitted through SOCAP Open, and in some years, selected sessions have provided up to half of the event’s content.

Our mission is to unlock the power of markets for impact for all people. We unite around a shared passion for shaping the possible on a global scale. As you prepare your SOCAP Open submissions, consider these important questions for achieving this shared vision and mission for all people and our planet:

SOCAP Open enables us to ensure that speakers who need to be heard are given the platform to broadcast their ideas. Through the Equitable Access Speakers Fund, seeded by our partnership with Halloran Philanthropies in 2022, financial support to cover SOCAP23 registration fees is available for any speakers who need it.

The SOCAP23 Open Timeline and Process

The SOCAP Content team curates content from many sources: listening to the field, reading, art, partners, and SOCAP Open. We synthesize lots of information to bring you leading-edge ideas and practical applications. Here’s how we handle the submissions from SOCAP Open:

February 15 to April 1: Pitch your session idea! Submit your proposal to the SOCAP Open online portal (below).

April 2 to April 15: Upvote your favorite session! The community voting period is live. Help shape the content further by casting a vote for session submissions.

April 16 to April 28: Committee reading and selection. The SOCAP23 content committee reviews all submissions, discusses them as a group, and uses a decision matrix to make final content selections. 

May 1: Acceptance Letters sent to session organizers. If your session is accepted into SOCAP23, you will receive a letter detailing the next steps to confirm your participation. 

May 15: SOCAP Open session confirmations due. If you are unable to confirm your session by this time, the content team will give your slot to an alternate contributor. 

Early summer: Public announcement of selected Open sessions for SOCAP23.
