We have discovered our conflict with Rosh Hashanah and deeply apologize for the impact and inconvenience it’s causing our Jewish community. While we realized the conflict after it was too late to undo this year, you can have great confidence that it will not happen again. We have worked to include observance of Rosh Hashanah at SOCAP13 through the below events.
In collaboration with Chabad of San Francisco, SOCAP will be honoring the Jewish High Holidays after Thursday morning’s plenary with Rabbi Yosef Langer for the sounding of the Shofar and sharing of honey cake.
Additionally, SOCAP attendees are invited to attend SOMA Shul services at HUB San Francisco on Wednesday night and other Rosh Hashanah services throughout the week. Services with Chabad of SF are designed to make everyone feel welcome and at home whether you consider yourself Reform or Conservative, Orthodox or unaffiliated, Sefardi or Ashkenazi, well-versed, unversed and universed. The prayers, conducted with Hebrew/English prayer-books, are lively, engaging and inclusive – spiced with inspiring tunes and insightful explanations throughout – allowing all to absorb the experience at their own level.
See here for a full list, and more information on how to RSVP.
SOCAP is honored to be partnering with Chabad of San Francisco. Chabad has been actively involved in our San Francisco HUB community for several years now – a favorite event being their ‘Rally Rabbi and The Kabballah of The Ball’ pre-game SF Giants gatherings at the HUB. Our SOCAP13 collaboration is a natural next step, and we invite you to learn more about SOMA Shul and the local opportunities that Rabbi Yosef Langer and Rabbi Shmulik Friedman offer to gather and celebrate Judaism.
