SOCAP13 Video: Think Big with Sam Duncan

Sam Duncan, Associate Director of Impact at Leapfrog Investments, kickstarts the next four days for those at SOCAP13. She is responsible for measuring and driving impact across the LeapFrog portfolio. LeapFrog defines impact as the provision of quality, relevant and affordable financial tools such as insurance to millions of low income or financially excluded people across Africa and Asia. Duncan works to enable portfolio companies to track and drive profit with purpose performance through LeapFrog’s in-house impact assessment framework, FIIRM. She also works to obtain a rigorous understanding of the impact of such financial tools on the emerging consumers LeapFrog portfolio companies serve. Prior to LeapFrog, she has held roles with Goldman Sachs, PricewaterhouseCoopers, TechnoServe, the Grassroots Business Fund, EMP’s CAMIF and managed a microcredit program in Peru. Sam holds a B.Com from the University of Queensland, Australia, and an MA in International Relations (International Development and Economics) from Johns Hopkins SAIS.
