ImpactPHL Will Provide Real Examples of Impact Investing at Work in Philadelphia
Another important trend that is connected to impact investing is investing locally. Impact investing, ESG, and SDGs can all be implemented in your region. Most philanthropy has traditionally been local and more investment is moving that way. Total Impact will expose investors and investment advisors to some examples and expertise of impact investing in Philadelphia.
To provide nationally relevant examples of what is currently working on the local level, we have partnered with ImpactPHL, an organization with a mission to increase investment in impact companies and organizations in Greater Philadelphia by accelerating development and awareness of Greater Philadelphia’s impact economy.
We selected Philadelphia for the inaugural Total Impact conference because it has a large and healthy impact ecosystem that is experiencing rapid growth. Philly is the home of B Lab and was the birthplace of the B Corp movement. Impact pioneer Judy Wicks founded the Sustainable Business Network here in this city, which was the first to offer special tax credits for sustainable businesses. Philadelphia also has its own chapter of the world’s largest early-stage impact investing network, Investors’ Circle.
