Pre-SOCAP21 Conference Checklist

How to Make the Most Out of Your SOCAP21 Conference Experience

We’ve all been doing the virtual thing for a while now, and for most of us, SOCAP21 won’t be our first virtual conference rodeo. But with SOCAP just around the corner on October 18-20, here are a few things you can do today to ensure you are ready to get the most out of the SOCAP experience. (If you aren’t registered yet, you can either sign up free for Opening Day or join us for the full event here.)

If you’d like to show up day of and work your way through the content and networking opportunities on the spot, that’s totally fine — lots of us likely will. But for those of you who’d like to plan your event experience to maximize the value, here’s a checklist you can follow.

And, if you’re a SOCAP veteran with your own pre-event checklist and have a recommendation for how we can all get ready, let us know in SOCAP Assembly!

1. Plan Your SOCAP21 Agenda

Browse through the SOCAP21 Agenda to figure out which sessions you want to attend. Click on a session title to open a page that will enable you to add this time block to your calendar so you’re sure not to miss the conversation. Filter through the sessions by tracks and formats to find the topics you’re most interested in, or go through them all day-by-day to build your personal schedule. We’ve incorporated dedicated networking sessions, too, so you won’t have to choose between getting to better know other attendees and attending important conference panels or discussions. Make note of the networking times and add some of those into your event schedule to take advantage of these opportunities!

2. Note Sessions You’ll Want to Watch After the Event

No one can be in two places at once (at least, not yet!), and we recognize you can get pulled away for life’s other demands more readily from virtual events than an in-person conference. But, as a distinct virtual benefit, all sessions will be recorded and made available to attendees*. Recordings should be made available a week after the conference, so keep your eyes out for email notices about access. (Be sure to add hello@socapglobal.com to your approved email list so you don’t miss these and any other future announcements.)

*Recordings will only be accessible to All Access Pass Holders. If you have a free Starter Pass for Opening Day and want lifetime access to the recordings, upgrade your ticket before the conference starts to access recordings of the sessions from all three days of the conference.

3. Start Networking Today on SOCAP Assembly

SOCAP Assembly is our recently launched, year-round community discussion platform. You can connect with others in the SOCAP Community and find others working in areas you’re also working in, connect on topics you’re excited about, and more. (You can read more about it in our announcement here.)  In addition to our full-community group open to everyone who wants to join, we’re hosting a private group on SOCAP Assembly for attendees to hold a conversation during the conference. You’ll be able to connect to fellow attendees before SOCAP21 kicks off, discuss topics of interest during the conference, and remain connected after the closing session ends.

To get started, register on SOCAP Assembly by filling out your profile and starting to explore the other member profiles. You can even create your own SOCAP Community discussion: If there is a topic you don’t see covered already, and you would like to lead a conversation about that subject, you can create a thread as specific or as broad as you’d like. Strike up conversation threads or respond to ones already going and build connections to drive collective action beyond our live events!

And, once SOCAP21 is over, that doesn’t mean the magic stops! We’ll keep the conversation going in SOCAP Assembly by posting recordings, asking questions and seeking your feedback, sharing new stories and interviews, and encouraging discussion, debate, reflection and collective action. We’ll see you there!
