Description

This panel will explore proven and emerging models for creating equitable access to capital and business development resources for socially and economically disadvantaged individuals (SEDI) across the American South. Featuring insights from Winrock International’s comprehensive support programs and the City of Little Rock’s municipal initiatives, we’ll discuss innovative approaches to business development, capital readiness, and market access that have demonstrated measurable impact in Alabama, Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi, and Tennessee. Panelists will share real-world examples of how targeted business support programs and cross-sector collaboration can reduce marginalization, increase business sustainability, and create resilient local economies. The session will highlight both established successes and new initiatives, including practical strategies for breaking down silos between government, nonprofits, and funders to create holistic support systems for underserved entrepreneurs.
