Description

The Navajo Nation has a long history of extractive industries dominating economic activity leading to environmental degradation and a significant and dangerous existence of food insecurity. A Dine phrase, “t’aa ho’ajiteegoo” describes community members’ work toward solutions on a daily basis with little investment. What’s needed is a wide scale collaborative approach that provides investment in traditional management of land and water resources to uplift and sustain an agricultural economy that is powered by Dine culture. We know our community holds the solutions that are necessary to thrive but we need to co-create a modern investment infrastructure that can support a cultural based economy.
