Description

Recognizing the pivotal role children can have in enhancing communication and awareness, encouraging behaviour change, and advancing sustainable values, this panel serves as an intergenerational platform to showcase how climate, biodiversity, and environmental learning and essential skill building have the potential to catalyze youth-driven action and conservation efforts at local, regional, and global levels, and highlight how children globally can actively contribute to policy discussions and whole of society solutions.

Education is a powerful and critical but underused tool to address the triple planetary crisis of climate change, biodiversity loss and pollution. It equips children and youth in particular with the knowledge, skills and resilience needed to take meaningful action, innovate and lead. It is essential in supporting green jobs and a transition to a just and sustainable society. Drawing inspiration from the award-winning #Decarbonize Global Child Climate Program this conversation will highlight how children, when empowered with the right skills and guidance, are uniquely positioned to create ripple effects of positive change in both urban and rural settings.
